In my experience, human design projectors are talked about the least or it’s always the same advice: wait for an invitation, you are guides, and you need to master systems. What does this all really mean and how do I use this advice in my daily life? Do I just sit around and wait for an invitation to do anything? Do I only focus on others? What does mastering systems even mean? And what is human design?
I’ve learned that the best wisdom, in-depth, interesting, and applicable advice come from other projectors. So, as a human design projector, here are some things that I have learned that have really helped me. I will talk about waiting for an invitation, rest, and mastering systems. I would also recommend checking out your authority, which is how you should make decisions, to use in your daily life. I don’t mention anything about it because not all human design projectors have the same one, but it is still a key part of living an aligned life using human design.
If you are new to human design, here is a quick rundown. Human design is a combination of astrology, the Judaic Kabbalah, the Chinese I Chine, the Hindu chakra system, and quantum physics. The most important parts of your chart are going to be your energy type (Projector, Manifestor, Generator, Reflector, Manifesting Generator), your profile (ex: 1/4, 3/6, 6/2), your authority (emotional, sacral, splenic, ego, self-projected, environmental, or lunar authority), and lastly your human design strategy (to respond, to inform, wait for an invitation, to wait). When starting out, just focus on learning about these 4 parts of your chart and you will be golden.
WAITING FOR AN INVITATION
Tip #1 People Who Don’t Recognize You, Aren’t for You
Someone who doesn’t recognize you just isn’t meant for you. It is hard as a human design projector to not become bitter and want to prove yourself to others. It can be hurtful and frustrating, but you have to become okay with the fact that when someone doesn’t recognize you and your amazing wisdom and talents that it is just the universe telling you that that person is not meant for you. Just because they just won’t see it, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be recognized and valued for your gifts. The best way to see it is to see it as a tool, a tool to know who is for you and who isn’t.
Tip #2 Try Asking for an Invitation
Waiting for an invitation is our human design strategy. Personally, this shows up in my life a lot when giving advice. What I now understand is that it doesn’t have to only be them asking you for advice. You can also ask them. One of the best things I have learned that I now use all the time is that I ask if they would like my advice or if they are open to talking or hearing what I have to say. You can ask for an invitation. Also, remember that waiting for an invitation is mainly for the big things in your life, and it doesn’t have to be used for every little decision you make.
Tip #3 Fill Up Your Own Cup First
While you are “waiting” for your invitations, the best thing that you can do is to use your energy on yourself. Use the time and energy you have between invitations to focus on yourself, rest, and improve your skills. As projectors, we are designed to focus on others and guide them and that can lead us to completely forget about ourselves. It is extremely important to still prioritize yourself so that you can guide others and attract the right invitations to you. So, in the meantime, focus on what gives you joy, make sure to give yourself loads of rest, master your niche, and pour all of your love and energy into yourself for a change.
Tip #4 Recognize Yourself First
You cannot expect others to recognize you when you don’t even recognize yourself. This can be hard when most of our life people don’t recognize us when that’s all we want. Energetically, if you are just out there, recognizing yourself and how much you bring to the table, not needing anyone to recognize you because you do, imagine how much less pain you would cause yourself and how much faster the right people will recognize you. As a human design projector, when you’re just doing your thing unapologetically not needing anyone’s permission, that’s when you are the most magnetic.
*You can start by reflecting on your strengths, recognizing your innate worth, accepting yourself as someone with flaws, and making time for daily affirmations.
RESTING
Tip #1 Make Time for Rest Throughout the Day
Start listening to your body and energy more. Give yourself what you need and stop before you’re completely exhausted and depleted. I have found that taking a break between tasks and giving myself little rests throughout the day really helps, but find what works for you. As a human design projector, meditation, silence, and rest are going to be your best friend. If you constantly feel exhausted, but you get enough sleep and are resting, maybe it’s not that type of rest that you are lacking. There are 7 types of rest: https://goop.com/wellness/mindfulness/7-types-of-rest/. If you realize you are lacking in a lot, just start with 1 or 2 areas.
Tip #2 Make Time to Wake Up Slowly and Wind Down Before Bed
Something that has really helped me, is waking up really slowly, just sitting in my energy, opening my blinds, and looking out the window. It could just be the first couple minutes after you wake up that you allow yourself to just lay in bed, but I have been loving really slow and present mornings. For nighttime, I have a whole winding down routine. I give myself time to relax before bed, read or listen to a podcast, meditate, do breathwork, appreciate my day, journal, etc. Creating space for this daily has really helped me get out of the fast-paced life that we aren’t really meant for. I suggest you try this out and make it your own.
Tip #3 Understand What Actually Makes You Feel Recharged
I have realized that I try to rest by watching tv or tiktok, and that doesn’t actually help me feel recharged. So, I have been doing some trial and error on what activities actually help me feel recharged. Meditation is obviously the best, but still coloring, reading, listening to podcasts, and music all help me get into my body and relax. So, try some things out and check in with yourself to see if you feel recharged or not. Maybe try just being out in nature, having self-care time, journaling, or doing yoga, these are just some ideas.
Tip #4 Allow Yourself to Fully Rest
The biggest key to resting is actually allowing yourself to rest. Thinking about all the things you have to do while laying down is NOT resting. Try to give yourself time to just be, not thinking about how to improve yourself, not thinking about the future or past. You’re a little human on this big earth, just living. And, release any tension you are holding onto. Tip: tell yourself that you are done for the day just for the sake of it and all you have to do now is rest, that is your only job. Release any guilt around rest and any mindset of it not being productive. You’re a human design projector, rest is 100% productive and vital.
MASTERING SYSTEMS
Tip #1 Master What You Are Already Interested In and What Comes Easy to You
As a projector, we are supposed to lean into what we love, what lights us up, and fascinates us, and master those systems. We are supposed to educate ourselves and observe the subjects we find joy in. Practice and studying are huge for human design projectors. We are meant to study more than all the other human design types. To know what system you are meant to master, just lean into what you probably already know a lot about or are interested in. Reflect on when you feel bitter and when you feel success (your not-self and self-sign) and reflect on what motivates you.
Tip #2 Understand Your Energy Works the Opposite of Society’s Way
Most of us in this society think our worth is attached to our work and how productive we are. We feel guilty when we aren’t constantly ‘productive’, and can’t really like or be proud of ourselves if we don’t push ourselves to depletion. Go-go-go is the way to live. WRONG. Especially for human design projectors, your gifts are your wisdom, your perspective, the systems you create, the way you can see how something can work more proficiently, etc. People are not going to appreciate what you do, but how you change their lives. The way you help them is by sharing what you see and your wisdom. So, lean into your gifts and embrace who you are.
Tip #3 Focus on Guiding and Tweaking Not Creating
We are not here to create everything from scratch, push out new ideas, and make things happen. Using your energy in that way will have you exhausted and not as successful as you want to be. Focus your energy on guiding others and tweaking systems. Our amazing skill is that we can see how systems can run the most efficiently and what’s missing in others to reach their full potential. Our gift is that we recognize how energy should be applied. We have the ability to recognize and at the same time have the specific attributes to be recognized and magnetize the right people to us. Stop wasting your time and energy trying to be the other human design types.
Tip #4 The Potential of Undefined Centers and the Need for Deconditioning
Our undefined centers represent the areas in life that we don’t have constant access to. We pick up that energy from our environment, so it’s also the area where we are susceptible to conditioning. As a human design projector, you must decondition yourself to the way that you are meant to live. We are very susceptible to the pressure (open root center) of acting like the other human design types (manifestors and generators) like how society and our parents want us to be. The good thing is that there is potential in undefined centers because you will eventually gain wisdom in this area and will be able to show others how to correctly use these energies.
My human design projectors, I hope you enjoyed this blog and are inspired to make some changes in your life. The best thing you can do for yourself is to read and study your human design chart and stop trying to be like the other human design types. It will be a journey of deconditioning and leaning into our gifts, but I promise it will be so worth it. The main takeaways should be to lean into what you love and study them, embrace the slow life of being a human design projector, recognize yourself first, and put yourself out there to be seen.
In the beginning, you only really need to know your profile, authority, your energy type, and human design strategy. You can also reflect on how your not-self and self-sign show up in your life. What patterns cause you to be bitter and what people, and what are you doing when you feel successful? These are the ones specifically for human design projectors. Human design has changed my life and I hope it does the same for you.
